aarduork presents, in collaboration with MOLT, the documentation of the evening held at Bocciofila San Sebastiano on May 5, 2026.
A breath rising into a strained crescendo introduces a "reading" in which violence, care, and revolution surface. A parabolic microphone captures and amplifies the ambient noise, creating controlled feedback loops between a male voice and the space marked out by the columns of the Bocciofila. A figure bursts in, dancing, at times harmonious, at times convulsive, over a drone generated from Madonna's Hung Up. Two cherubs enter the scene attempting to restore order and cleanliness to the space; they read out a list made of dirty bodies, dirty spaces, they play bocce, they sing and moan. And then a crooner sings in a heartfelt voice, while little by little all the other figures move into play in the background, and a distorted echo envelops the transformed space.
The event, curated by MOLT, explored play as a social and spatial device, framing it as a site of informal gathering where everyday rituals, playful interactions, and intergenerational exchanges naturally unfold. Through sound, movement, and spoken word, the work gradually activated Bocciofila S. Sebastiano as a living archive, shaped by memory, habit, and non-linear time.
